Abstract

Young adult years are usually when people indulge themselves in some of the most popular fast-food offered to us, their body being fittest and their metabolism exceptionally fast. However, once this sweet era ends, people will have to find food which is tasty and healthy, battling against the huge corporations they have been raised with. Surrounded by constantly progressing artificial food industry, it is easy to be sold onto the most convenient food sources, yet difficult to live with the repercussions. During my SYP I created food combinations that use the tastiest, most economically sound ingredients which also maintain a healthy balance with all the nutrients needed in the human body. My research included articles, documentaries, and books providing insight to our fast-food industry, the necessities of the human body, and contrasting America’s diet with some other poorer yet healthier countries. Further home-cooking was done in attempt to find the most realistic adaptations young adults can make in their diet today. Through this research and my own cooking I have found that having a healthy diet and coexisting with an intimidating industry is easier said than done. I have established a collection of tips and lifestyle choices that can be adapted daily, without sacrificing personal taste.
